2000 - SAVING THE PORTE-COCHERE

At one point, the elaborate driveway entrance to the mansion was in danger of complete collapse. Wilderstein received a $120,000 matching grant from the New York State Clean Air / Clean Water Bond Act to restore the deteriorating structure. By May of 2000, Wilderstein had received over $300,000 in grants from various sources, enabling restoration work to continue throughout the year. Work on the porte-cochere was finished in July 2002.
