Summer 1975 - WILDERSTEIN IS LISTED IN THE HISTORIC AMERICAN BUILDING SURVEY
In an early indication of its historical and architectural significance, Wilderstein is documented by the Historic American Building Survey (HABS). HABS, begun in 1933, is the nation’s first federal preservation program devoted to documenting America’s architectural heritage. The resulting HABS report for Wilderstein was ultimagely used to establish the estate as a contributing property in the Hudson River National Historic Landmark District.
