1980 - THE PROJECT TO SAVE WILDERSTEIN BEGINS: WILDERSTEIN PRESERVATION IS CREATED

Daisy Suckley established the not-for-profit organization charged with restoring and maintaining Wilderstein and its grounds as a historic house museum that was open to the public.

She retained the right to live in the house until her death. “I hope [Wilderstein] is going to be of use” she says, “I hope it’s going to be preserved for what is worth preserving in it.”
